Somehow the whole thrill in communicating with God is simply just that; talking with the creator of the universe. This is epic. The idea of the fact that the will and force which formed the stars, created the sun, designed waterfalls, mountains & canyons, developed wildlife, architects the seasons, clouds and tornados, lightning, plus thunder talks to our being- mono-to-mono (one-on-one). The belief that God audibly communicate to us within our own language is subnormal. In fact, it can be considered a form of a mental illness. However, God does speak to His creation. He communicates with the animals, the doves, the fawns, the kittens, and the swans. He hosts the sensory of Mother Nature. God answers prayers. God hears our words; knows our thoughts, is aware of our feelings of joy, happiness, gratitude as well as our pain, suffering, anxiety, worries, doubts and tears.
“God whispers to us in our pleasures, but He shouts to us in our pain.”
C. S. Lewis
(SPIRITUAL REFLECTION) I Kings 19:11-13-“The Lord said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.’ Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’”
The prophets recognized the voice of God when He spoke to them. It was this awareness which made their relationship with humanity so unique.
(SPIRITUAL REFLECTION) John 10:14-16 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. The wolf attacks the flock and shatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father- and I lay down my life foe the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”
Jesus who reflects and reveals the image of God hears His disciples’ words in prayer and those who are His sheep recognize his voice as a shepherd. The moral of hearing God and God listening to us is the entire ego system of the communication waves of the universe. Why pray to a God who is not there to listening? Why try to worship a being who does not care is you are servitude to His existence?
