What is the problem with human nature? I honestly feel from the bottom of my heart that the core of humanity is good. I’m not lost… or blind… or in denial. I see the world. I see murder daily; rape regularly, child neglect, child abuse, child molesting lingering in the Catholic church. I know human trafficking is vicious. I’m aware that slavery was real only a few generations ago within our past right here in our great nation of U.S.A. And it is still legal in some parts of the world. We are still presently overcoming racial, gender, religious prejudice within our home culture of America. I know about domestic abuse. I used to steal like a pirate myself when I was adolescence. I also used foul language like a sailor. I know people are sinful to their core. I’m aware of our present state within humanity. However, I also see architecture structure upon the backdrop of spectacular landscape. I see the incredible infrastructure building within the genius mindset of civil engineers. I see the beauty of art within museums, plus within historical monuments as well as classical and present paintings. I hear the amazon sound of good music with multiple genres. I’ve eaten great cuisine among several cultures of civilization. We have great cities and established governments. We’ve built planes, trains, and automobiles. We’ve written literature to fill volume of books to fill libraries by the thousands. The Holy Spirit used the hands of humans to assist in writing the Bible. I feel if the nature of humanity was not worth saving, God would not have made an intend to save us- Where is God’s heart on this matter, within the scripture:
“To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it. But I am full of the wrath of the Lord, and I cannot hold it in. ‘Pour it out on the children in the street and on the young men gathered together: both husband and wife will be caught in it, and the old, those who live in the land.’ declare the Lord. ‘From the least to the greatest all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say; when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush.
Jeremiah 6:10- 15
God also is not blind. He is not in denial. He is not ignorant of sin. What is the heart behind human nature? What does it mean to love; brotherly love unconditionally, plus, have a pure heart towards God as a creator? Who are human to have such a nature. Reflect upon this scripture-
“Therefore the showers have been withheld and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to blush with shame.”- Jeremiah 3:3
What is it for a man to blush in shame? Have you ever seen a grown man blush? Is this actually a masculine trait? Who are we to see God through pure eyes? Who are we to see this world as He gazes upon us. Consider Jesus’ nature:
“Jesus wept.”- John 11:35
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. – Luke 13:34
Jesus is a man after God’s image. Humans were created in God’s image. The core of the nature of God is that God is love. (SPIRITUAL REFLECTION: I John 4:16-21 & John 13: 34, 35) We as humans are commanded to love. This is the purpose of humanity; to overcome wickedness through the force of love. And only through the aid of the Father can we overcome injustice. Consider God’s heart within this scripture about His chosen people; the nation of Israel:
“Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that just justice is perverted.”
Habakkuk 1:3,4
God morns. God grieves and yet has compassion. God force of sympathy goes beyond human compacity of empathy. God is just. He will balance and judge good and evil. He will restart nature and embrace a new Earth. It says so in His Word. What is the problem with human nature. Humanity must come to God on His terms. One who seek to know God must come to God on His term. God is holy and He calls us to be holy.
“The Lord said to Moses, Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them; ‘Be holy because I, the Lord you God, am holy.” – Leviticus 19: 1, 2
Nature will be in harmony with humanity and God will establish His Spirit to dwell among humans on His terms. This will assist the problem with our present human nature.
