WHY THE BIBLE?

WHY THE BIBLE?

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
                                                                                                                                    John 1:1-5
The Bible is the most intricate book in the world. It is known as being the Word of God. The Scriptures takes words through multiple authors, projecting over region of land over multiple centuries of time. No other work in the world covers such a precise source of knowledge. The Scriptures reflect the words of the creator, and it still is not forced upon us to read it. It is wise if one does read it, but it is not required. The moral of salvation is found in the Bible. This concept is based around the religion of Christianity. Is it possible for one to be saved in life without incorporating the concepts of Christianity? Is it possible for one to grow wiser in the Word of God without reading it? It would seem these two things can’t be true.
The Bible covers over 2,000 years of history, plus 5,000 years of evolution. It encompasses humanity back to its origin of existence. It is written from three original languages (Hebrew, Greek & Latin). It has authors who were kings, prophet, poets, fishermen, tax collectors, Roman soldiers, and physicians all called to recorded information from the Holy Spirit. These pieces of literature were gathered and grouped together for over 500 years. This book captures the genealogy of Jesus Christ. It gives recording of His ministry, teachings, death, resurrections and mission statement. This book is full of knowledge for anyone who seeks to understand. There is no better source to feed your faith in life. God gives His Word freely to anyone who wants to listen but does not enforce His Will upon anyone. We as humans have free will.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”                                                                                                                    II Timothy 3:16 & 17
What is it for words to be living and active? It is for them to never die in meaning and forever grow and change according to the present knowledge of man, plus correct, instruct and guide our thoughts through current information and lifestyles. The Word of God does not fade away with technology. It does not die in trends of social path or rest and outlive by generations. What makes the Word of God living is the fact that comes from the source of life itself. It originated with the origin of creation. This very thought was as igniting as The Big Bang Theory. Why should we bring shame to this truth? What propels us not to listen and obey? Does the origin of human nature outlive the extremity of life itself? It don’t think so…

GOD IS NOT NICE

GOD IS NOT NICE

God is love. He has the capacity to touch a leaf as a gentle blow of wind. His grace and compassion towards humanity reflects the dance of a deer wandering in the wild. He has strength reflecting the solid stand of a mountain. His wisdom that counts the number of stars; He moves as a pillar of fire consuming all that belongs. He is powerful and the best authority figure for all creation. God is good, nevertheless, God is not nice.
God is a just God. He will balance the morals of good & evil. He will bring to justice that which is wicked in His sight. He does not hold sins against the ones who seek Him whole heartly with love. He shows no favoritism. It is hard to see the trees within forest. When we are suffering pain, we don’t want to process the understanding of justice. Life does not seem fair.
“Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deed out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.’ Come now, let us settle the matter’, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”                                                                                                                    - Isaiah 1:16-18
We wrestle within our minds as we look at the world… God why… why the suffering, starvation, killing, war, bloodshed, homelessness and poverty.  While I think God sits on His throne and ask Himself “Why do they blame me. I given enough food to feed everyone on the planet?” God is not nice, but He does have a sense of humor. However, it’s hard to laugh when the pain is so real, yet our just God has a heart which grieves over the suffering He sees. God feels sad. In order to grasp the joy of the Spirit gives us as fruit, we should embrace the heart of God and understand His sadness. When we see God’s world in the manner which is right and true which He establish a plan of justice for all humanity, we can begin to understand why there needs to be a level of lament. We also can understand why all in life is good… not fair… but good.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”                               - John 14:27
Jesus understood what it took to bring justice here on Earth. Jesus cried; battled, gave blood shed and dies because He grasp the gravity of what it took to bring peace upon Earth. The Father is not short of holding accountable of all that matters in the name of His son as being true. He uses the words of Jesus to bring meaning to justice. Jesus’ life was good, but it was not without pain, even though He was without sin. God is not nice and He also show no favoritism. Although Jesus was sinless, He still died since He still was human. God raise a high price to pay towards those who live righteously within His name. And through doing this He balance justice and grace.
