MY MARRIAGE WITH JESUS

MY MARRIAGE WITH JESUS

There are two primary covenant relationships biblically illustrated in the Bible. Today we embrace a discipline relationship reflecting the ministry of Jesus. Rather or not, one considers this a covenant relationship is not my point. I’m reflecting on a relationship one would have reflected their bond with God. One relationship is the commitment of baptism. The second example is the vow and promise made in the institution of marriage. The idea is a note trustworthy to notice. In both cases one is making a promise or a vow to a commitment of whole heartily to be faithful and loving towards another party; in a marriage the commitment is to the spouse, and in baptism the commitment is to Jesus. In both examples there is a reality of an individual living and having a past and then walking into this new moment occurring within their life. For the marriage both parties were single at one point in their lives; they lived as a single person within society then joined in unison into the institution of marriage. For baptism one realized they were walking a pathway in life that was not spiritually healthy. There was a moral understanding that there is something in life worth living and dying for and if they don’t change their lifestyle they will not be saved from the consequences of judgement for the wretched manner of living. So there is a spiritual & physical commitment made with Jesus as a vow in marriage towards His church. In both these vows there is a charge within one’s lifestyle which is considered permanent and the unity is solidified to become one in being. This is an important concept in the institute of marriage and the sacred walk of salvation. Without a complete understanding of this full virtue no one can expect to be successful within this commitment of salvation.
“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.”   – Hebrew 6: 4-8
“Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him in no sin. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does who is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of the devil are; Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”                          I John 3: 4-10
