NOW I SEE YOU… Lord
What happen when Jesus died; being crucified then resurrected overcoming death, sin and eternal damnation? Why is this implication necessary to remove sin? In order to wrap your mind around this moral consider the reality of Mount Everest blocking one’s vision to seeing pass it onto the horizon. Image being blocked by something that massive to be unable to see pass it’s point. Look into human history. Witness 500 years of war between China & Japan, 200 years of slavery on American soil, the massive truth of the Holocaust, the Dark Ages, the Crucifixion itself. What does it mean to have darkness so thick that you can feel it touch your flesh as damp, moist dew.
“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. And Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.’ When he had said this, he breathed his last.”- Luke 23: 44-46
Consider what it is to have an eclipse blocking you from seeing the physical chemistry of sin. Now imagine such a blockage being removed and the vision path is clear to see, walk through and gorge.
Consider this analogy: you place a person and blindfold them in a large room with obstacles such as furniture within a difficult pathway to walk. Then you instruct the person how to pass through and walk through the room. You give them a spoken, written instruction to hear. The instructions are even written as a map and recorded to orally read so they are continuously played, and spoken, and heard by the person wearing the blindfold walking through the room. There will be a level of difficulty. Now consider the same dilemma with the blindfold being removed. It’s one thing to instruct a blind man where to walk, it’s another thing to give them sight and establish higher level of comprehension.
“The man answered, ‘Now that is remarkable! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.’ To this they replied, ‘You were steeped in at birth; how dare you lecture us!’ And they threw him out.
Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found he, he said’ Do you believe in the Son of Man?’
‘Who is he, sir?’ the man asked,’ Tell me so that I may believe in him.’
Jesus said, ‘You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.’
Then the ma said, ’Lord, I believe.’ and he worshiped him.
Jesus said, ‘For judgement I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.’
Some Pharisee, who were with him, heard him say this and asked, ‘What? Are we blind too?’
Jesus said, ‘If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, you guilt remains.’”- John 9:30-41
When Jesus removed spiritual obstacle of sin, He gave us a whole new playing field to battle the enemy. We gain an advantage over Satan which we as a species never had in our primate era. B.C. illustrates a harsh loving God. A.D. reflects a more compassionate, intimate, forgiving God. Consider the battle plan God was dealing with, He had an enemy that not only wanted Him dead but would blow out the fire of light within all His loving children. It was war and no rules were fair. Life and death were reality of natural selection. Are we dealing with a different creator between B.C. & A.D. or have the veal been removed to see our lover (loving God) more clearly whom has always been there to see?
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”- Colossians 3: 12-17
