My love for Christ let this be the root. Let this be the soil whereby I plant my happiness. If I find contentment in my relationship with Jesus; will this not bring me joy? Jesus is a Season. It’s not just a breeze of emotions or a flood of positive energy. Don’t let the illusion fool you. True, joy is raised from a deep foundation of love from a relationship with God. Then to manage this fruit into harvest, one must focus their eyes and be content, neither looking at nothing else, nor left and right. (Reflection Hebrew 12:1, 2) “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” It actually takes a little work to cultivate the spiritual fruit of joy.
Developing the understanding it takes to rest in life with nothing more or less than a working salvation base off The Word of God; this takes a little effort. Jesus has said that if you follow His teachings and obey His commandments then you truly are His disciple. It’s hard to imagine the reality of being a disciple as a seed which develops into the fruit of joy. Let this reading be a message to you. Try for today living a life dedicated to the testimony of Jesus Christ. I guarantee that you will find this as the beginning of the real fruit of joy.
