OUR SALVATION, THE PROSECUTOR; OUR DEFENSE THE CROSS
There is a central point when one tries to understand the life, trail and death of our Savior Jesus Christ. First there is a perspective of the situation looking at it from Jesus’ point of view. We will spend the rest of eternity wrapping our minds around this concept. Then there is a perspective of the heart and mentality of the religious leaders during those days; the Jews & the Pharisees. Did the Pharisees knowing their sins purposely crucified our Savior Jesus Christ or where they blinded by their pride? Either way we are left with the same results, nevertheless, this is an important argument to ponder and a subject which I desire to take some time to think about.
I plan to write a series of articles and lessons on this topic. I will look at the crucifixion of our savior from the perspective that the Pharisees knowingly put Jesus to death on the cross. I will also take into consideration and look at this point in history as if the religious leaders were completely blind and were not aware of their level of wrong within their act of the crucifixion. This is the point which Jesus stated while he was lying on the cross about ready to die. (Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do). Nevertheless, Caiaphas realized the value of one man’s dying for the cause of many others. Looking at the perspective of all these points truly reveals where the guilt of our sins lies on our hearts today.
Moreover, we are better equipped to examine our own hearts if we consider what God’s word says about us at the level of the cross. These essays/articles will be able to help us get in touch with the moral of right and wrong is within ourselves. Somewhat as the convictions of watching the movie “The Passion of Christ” for the seventh time; we will get in touch with our hearts at a profound level.
I hope to examine and express the gospel on a level whereby philosophically and spiritually statements of truths are not lost in the writing.
