Prosecutor:
I say we are being reasonable; because when all was said and done, Jesus Christ needed to be nailed and crucified on the cross to establish a meaning for a resurrection, a doorway to be open for human salvation.
If we take into consideration this mindset, we eliminate all guilt associated with the cross. It is a justified mindset to look into history and realize that Satan didn’t totally lie when he told Eve that “she surely will not die”, for it remains in evidence that eternal salvation was in the mindset of God and was still needed to be established in the future.
When we think in this fashion, it is hard to tell where the line crosses between justice and those who are actually in the wrong.
Defense:
When we look internally through His Word we see clearly that we all are guilty. It is simple. It is true. However, there is a never ending abyss to where this guilt lies.
When we consider this mindset we need to humble ourselves. Our sins are nailed to the cross and we need to simply trust the process. Trust the system which Jesus has so deliberately laid down for us. Accept his name; his blood, his convictions, his teaching, his commandments, thus what his lifestyle has taught to us and his way of thinking. Accept the entire meaning of the cross, both the glory and the ugliness. Do not try to independently determine for ourselves the price for our souls without our sinful nature. For this will only delay the process, which is inevitably predestine.
