“But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!”- I Kings 8:27
King Solomon pondered on the reality of the God of the universe dwelling among humans here on Earth. The wises man who ever lived; this very thought “blew his mind!” This was in another time within a different generation. How our philosophies can or will change based on culture through generations. Nevertheless, the Word of God nor God Himself does not change. This very truth of God dwelling among humans has since come to past. The Word of God dwells within the new hearts of human’s moral conscience.
(SPIRITUAL REFLECTION: Jeremiah 31:33 & 34 “ ‘This is the covenant I will make with God people of Iseral after that time, ‘declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘ Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,, declares the Lord, ‘For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.’ “)
What was Jesus’ mindset when He vision His very own ministry? The church; thus, the assembly of believers. This is what the word “church” meant during the day Jesus was walked this Earth? It meant gathering or body of believers within one common belief.
(SPIRITUAL REFLECTION: Acts 11:26- “and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch, So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.”
When the word “Christians” was born, the meaning represented what Jesus had in mind for His ministry. Whereby we know a church as a building, a business, a spiritual community hospital for the spiritually sick… the sinners. Do we all belong to the church? No. Are we all welcomed to the church? Yes! Why did Jesus envision a gathering of people who all represent a single belief of knowing and worshipping the true God? Why did the Son of God Himself set out on a quest to create a specific identity of culture; one that would not die through the test of time, one that would evolve through generations of wickedness? We cannot put the Kingdom of God in a box. We cannot continue to make it something acceptable today. What is the culture of the Kingdom of God? Answer: We are as salt on the Earth placed in this world to preserve and contain the taste of the goodness of the Lord within His Kingdom. Jesus established this quest through the seed of faith. This seed was created within humanity through Abram, God’s servant who God set a path towards a journey of life while here on Earth. He believed what he heard the Word of God say and this was credited to him as righteousness by God.
(SPIRTUAL REFLECTION: Genesis 15:6 “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness”)
The Word of God became flesh.
(SPIRITUAL REFLECTION: John 1: 1&2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning”
And that flesh envision are established church; a culture and assembly of a culture of one people living through the unified conscience of a single belief.
